Pathways to Careers can help you find not just a job, but a pathway to a great career with clear opportunities to advance and grow. In close coordination with your vocational rehabilitation counselor, we'll work with you to set and achieve your own career goals—starting with training to earn certifications and credentials if you need them.

How Pathways Works:

Pathways is vocational rehabilitation (VR) amplified. Participants have access to individualized and targeted employment supports that complement the services offered by VR counselors — all with the goal of helping you prepare for, obtain and succeed in meaningful careers in high-growth industry sectors, including:

Apprenticeships:

Pathways offers you hands-on opportunities to “learn while you earn” and gain valuable industry credentials through our partnership with Virginia's Department of Workforce Development and Advancement.

STEM-H Careers:

Pathways can help you explore and train for careers in high-growth industries, including science, technology, engineering, math and health care (STEM-H).

State Government Careers:

Virginia's Alternative Hiring Process helps more qualified individuals with disabilities find state government jobs with good salaries and good benefits. Pathways can help you learn about public sector careers and how to apply for an Alternative Hiring Process Letter.
